'SWEATER'
Wondrous Christmas wrapping ... in some parts of the world.
In lands where winter heralds Christmas,
warmth is prized and sought.
When gifts are given,
clothing that provides this boon are bought.
A sweater (also: jumper)
shields one’s torso from the chill.
A clever never-shiver garment,
wool or cotton twill.
In countries where the Jolly Season’s
summer (hotter, wetter)
Santa, in his thick red suit,
becomes the only sweater.
